Your scans never leave your phone. The app has no ads, no account, and no server of its own, and we do not receive any of your data. The app uses Google ML Kit for scanning; ML Kit processes your images on your device but sends diagnostic and usage metrics to Google, as described below.
Pages you scan, and the PDF and JPG files you create, are processed on your device and stored only in the app's private storage on your phone. They are never uploaded to us or to Google. They are excluded from Android device backups (Google cloud backup) and from device-to-device transfer, so they are not copied off your phone or to a new phone. They stay until you delete them in the app or uninstall the app. When you choose to share or export a file, it goes only to the app or place you pick.
The camera is used only inside the Google scanner screen while you scan. Camera images are processed on your device.
The scanner is provided by Google ML Kit through Google Play services. The scanner component is downloaded by Google Play services the first time you use it, so an internet connection is needed once. According to Google, ML Kit processes input images fully on the device and does not send the images or the scan results to Google servers.
However, ML Kit sends diagnostic and usage metrics to Google. According to Google's ML Kit data disclosure, this includes:
Google uses this data for diagnostics and usage analytics. It is encrypted in transit using HTTPS, and ML Kit does not transfer it to third parties. We do not receive this data, and we are not aware of a setting that turns it off. ML Kit may also contact Google servers to receive bug fixes, updated models and compatibility information. The optional one-time Scanner Pro purchase is sold and processed by Google through Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment details. Google's handling of purchase data is described in Google's privacy policy.
The app contains no ads, no advertising SDKs, no analytics of our own, and no accounts. We do not sell your data.
You can delete scans in the app at any time; uninstalling the app deletes all of them. We hold no data about you, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side. The diagnostic metrics described above are collected by Google, and we cannot delete them.
The app is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone.
